How this review was made: it is based on published specifications and on tests by other reviewers, listed at the end. It is not a long-term personal test.
Dhaka to Jeddah is a route with a particular purpose. Many passengers are travelling for work or for pilgrimage, so a flight’s practical details matter more than its polish. Saudia, the Saudi national airline, is one of the obvious ways to fly it.
Time in the air
One flight listing shows a direct Dhaka to Jeddah flight at about 6 hours 40 minutes. Routings vary, however. The most detailed report I found, of flight SV805 in February 2017, describes a stop in Riyadh with a crew change. Check whether your booking is direct, because a stop changes the whole day.
The cabin and service
That 2017 report gave the flight 7.5 out of 10 overall, with 8 for the cabin, 7 for the crew and 7 for entertainment. It describes headphones waiting at the seat, a hot towel, and a video-on-demand screen with films in several languages. A sandwich and cake came as a second service before the stop.
Its author also thought the seat was fine for a shorter flight but less so for a long one. Saudia may have changed its cabins since, so treat this as a guide rather than a promise.
What to check before you book
- Baggage: a general travel guide suggests that economy tickets usually include 20 to 25 kg, but I could not confirm a figure for this route. Read your fare rules.
- Routing: confirm whether the flight is direct, and which aircraft is scheduled.
- Return from Jeddah: the same report describes passengers arriving hours early with too few seats to wait in, so plan for a long wait at the airport.
Who it is for
Saudia makes the most sense for travellers who want a straightforward journey to Saudi Arabia and can find a fare with the baggage they need. If comfort matters most, compare recent passenger reviews of the same aircraft type first.
